BCA Syariah has stated it is prepared to move up to the Core Capital Bank Group (KBMI) 2 if it receives additional capital from PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA). The company confirmed it has readied its infrastructure and capacity to anticipate the capital increase.

BCA Syariah Director Lukman Hadiwidjaja said strengthening capital is one of the things KBMI 1 banks need to prepare following the Financial Services Authority’s (OJK) appeal. This strengthening can be achieved through consolidation, collaboration, or organic and inorganic capital additions.

“The most important thing for us is how we prepare ourselves, including long-term plans and infrastructure that make our capacity ready,” Lukman said during the BCA Syariah First Half 2026 Performance Media Update in Jakarta on Tuesday.

According to Lukman, BCA Syariah has prepared its capacity and infrastructure to anticipate the capital injection. However, the decision regarding the additional capital lies with BCA. “The authority for the capital addition is not with us, but with BCA,” he stated.

Lukman said BCA Syariah is ready if the additional capital is realised, allowing the company to immediately enter KBMI 2. “So we are very ready if there is suddenly a capital injection for us to go directly to KBMI 2, alhamdulillah,” he said.

According to him, a capital increase will open up space for BCA Syariah to expand its services to the public. Therefore, the company is also preparing its infrastructure and business capacity to keep pace with the increase in business scale. Beyond capital, Lukman noted that KBMI 1 banks need to strengthen infrastructure, capacity, and good corporate governance.

BCA Syariah recorded total assets of Rp 20.7 trillion as of June 2026, growing 17.2 percent year-on-year. Financing reached Rp 13.6 trillion, growing 20.5 percent, while third-party funds reached Rp 15.39 trillion, an increase of 10.2 percent.
