BCA Syariah Commences Construction of First 'Ar Rahman' Mosque in Aceh Tamiang
PT Bank BCA Syariah (BCA Syariah) has commenced the construction of a mosque named Ar-Rahman in Aceh Tamiang. The name aligns with the theme of the 99 Mosques of Asmaul Husna programme, an initiative spearheaded by the Cinta Quran Foundation in collaboration with Masjid Nusantara and fully supported by BCA Syariah as the official bank partner. Located in Pematang Durian Village, Aceh Tamiang Regency, the mosque represents a tangible corporate effort to advance mosques across Indonesia as centres for community economic development. It also serves as concrete evidence of BCA Syariah’s support for the restoration of social and religious infrastructure following disasters and the acceleration of sharia economic growth in the Aceh region. The construction of the Ar-Rahman Mosque is the first of the 99 Asmaul Husna mosques planned nationwide. The programme was launched on 12 July 2026 by Cinta Quran Foundation Founder Ustaz Fatih Karim, Masjid Nusantara CEO Pras Purworo, and public figure Ivan Gunawan during the Amazing Muharram 15 event in Jakarta. The mosque is expected to become a hub for religious education and community empowerment, strengthening the social resilience of Pematang Durian Village residents as they rebuild their lives after the disaster. BCA Syariah’s Business Head of Funding, Services & Marcomm, Mia R Amalia, stated that this initiative is part of the company’s long-term commitment to being present in the community, in line with its brand proposition, ‘Sahabat Berkahmu’. She described the programme as a noble initiative to share and channel blessings to remote corners of Indonesia, reflecting a concern for fulfilling every individual’s basic right to worship properly. This step embodies the essence of ‘Sahabat Berkahmu’, where BCA Syariah acts as a true friend to those driving this positive initiative, from the Cinta Quran Foundation and Masjid Nusantara as initiators, to the partners and customers who contribute, and the communities who benefit. Mia confirmed that the contribution is designed to have a sustainable impact, extending beyond just physical construction. She expressed hope that the mosque would become a space for social interaction, religious education, and economic revival, strengthening solidarity to create an empowered community that is also steadfast in faith. BCA Syariah and its partners will prepare follow-up programmes to make the mosque a centre for community activities focused on improving education and the economy, serving as a beacon for the bank’s ‘Sahabat Berkahmu’ proposition. Mia added that discussions with the Cinta Quran Foundation and the local community have already begun to enhance and enliven various activities there to support this major objective. Founder of the Cinta Quran Foundation, Ustaz Fatih Karim, said that besides Aceh, the construction of 99 mosques will be carried out across Indonesia, with each mosque bearing one of the names of Allah from the Asmaul Husna. Through this programme, the foundation invites the public to help realise mosques that are not only physically beautiful but also functionally vibrant as centres for worship, education, and Islamic propagation. He expressed gratitude for the synergy with BCA Syariah as a strategic partner in presenting the Ar-Rahman Mosque to the people of Aceh Tamiang. As part of efforts to broaden social impact, BCA Syariah also launched a ‘1 Donation, 2 Kindnesses’ programme, allowing customers and partners to contribute to the construction of worship facilities with double the benefit. BCA Syariah customers who donate to the 99 Mosques Asmaul Husna programme via QR payment or transfer from BSya by BCA Syariah will receive an additional charitable contribution from BCA Syariah in the customer’s name, which will be channelled to the Cinta Quran Foundation’s foster parent programme. Through this initiative, BCA Syariah hopes to encourage cross-party collaboration in supporting inclusive and sustainable community development.
