PT Bank Central Asia Tbk or BCA, under the Bakti BCA umbrella, has once again affirmed its commitment to supporting stunting prevention. Most recently, Bakti BCA participated in a socialisation and early preeclampsia detection event at the Prof. Sujudi Building, Ministry of Health, on Tuesday, 21 April 2026.

In this event, Bakti BCA provided one package of early preeclampsia detection equipment to the Cisompet Health Centre in Garut, West Java. This pregnancy disorder risks triggering premature birth and low birth weight, which are factors causing stunting. The device consists of an ultrasound, patient monitor, Android tablet, and the Cexup application used by healthcare workers to detect risks more quickly and accurately.

In addition, Bakti BCA invited 31 pregnant women from the operational area of the Bakti BCA Supervised Clinic, namely the Bakti Medika Mangga Dua Clinic. They had the opportunity to directly receive socialisation and undergo early preeclampsia detection checks so that pregnancy risks can be identified earlier.

Not only that, Bakti BCA together with the Bakti Medika Clinic also provided free Mini Medical Check-Up (MCU) services for participants, as part of efforts to promote broader early disease detection.

BCA Director Antonius Widodo Mulyono stated that these efforts align with the government’s push to reduce the Maternal Mortality Rate (AKI), which remains high compared to other Southeast Asian countries.

Widodo mentioned that active collaboration from various parties is needed to achieve this target. In this regard, Widodo emphasised that BCA will always support the long-term sustainability of mothers and children.

“Today we are providing assistance in the form of a set of early preeclampsia detection equipment; previously, we have also been active in supporting stunting prevention in recent years. Hopefully, with what we do, we can reduce the Maternal Mortality Rate in Indonesia,” said Widodo.

BCA EVP Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility Hera F. Haryn added that this event with the Ministry of Health is a manifestation of Bakti BCA’s consistency in supporting stunting prevention. Previously, BCA had already implemented the Partner for Accelerating Stunting Reduction in Indonesia (PASTI) programme and the Ayo Cegah Stunting programme.

Hera explained that BCA, together with philanthropic organisations and other private companies, also supports the Ministry of Population and Family Development through the PASTI programme to accelerate the reduction of stunting rates in Indonesia. This joint programme runs for four years, from 2023 to 2026, with a total donation of US$1 million. Through these programmes, 6,070 children under two years old have received nutritional interventions during the 2023-2025 period.

“Stunting prevention needs to start from upstream, from adolescents and family readiness, maternal health during pregnancy, to child growth and development. We hope that BCA’s initiatives can strengthen prevention efforts from early pregnancy while improving the readiness of health facilities in providing faster and more accurate responses,” concluded Hera.
