For those who already have a BCA credit card, it can automatically be expanded to become cardless, because KKI is cardless. If you have MyBCA, you can directly apply to add KKI.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) or BCA has stated that it is ready to implement the retail-segment Indonesian Credit Card (KKI) recently launched by Bank Indonesia (BI).

BCA Director Santoso explained that customers who already have a BCA credit card can activate the service through the MyBCA application.

“For those who already have a BCA credit card, it can automatically be expanded to become cardless, because KKI is cardless. If you have MyBCA, you can directly apply to add KKI,” said Santoso during a press conference for BCA Expo 2026 in Jakarta on Wednesday.

KKI is being developed in stages. In the initial phase, KKI is available in the form of a digital card and can be used as a source of funds for transactions through the QRIS ecosystem, namely QRIS Merchant Presented Mode (MPM), QRIS Customer Presented Mode (CPM) and QRIS TAP.

Santoso stated that BCA’s KKI service can be used for these needs, both by scanning the QR code displayed by the merchant and through the QR code displayed by the user.

Transactions can also be carried out using NFC technology.

“If you have a mobile phone and also a smartwatch, you can transact using KKI as the source of funds. It is very interesting,” he added.

He also mentioned that BCA’s KKI service can be used as a source of funds for cross-border QRIS transactions.

“Indirectly, it can also become a source of funds for cross-border QRIS transactions. So in principle, BCA is ready,” he said.

The launch of the retail-segment KKI was carried out by BI together with the Indonesian Payment Systems Association (ASPI) and is intended to serve as an alternative domestic deferred payment method.

KKI was previously only issued for the government segment, intended for central and regional government work units to support government spending transactions.

Now, KKI can be used by individuals and corporations, both for conventional and sharia services, in accordance with the products provided by the issuing payment service providers (PJP).

In the initial implementation phase, there are seven first-mover PJP issuers of KKI, including BCA, Bank Mandiri, BNI, BRI, CIMB Niaga, Permata Bank, and Bank Mega, as well as one next-mover PJP, namely BSI.

Going forward, KKI will be developed in stages to facilitate online transactions through online payment as well as offline transactions using a physical card.
