BCA Launches Genera-Z Berbakti 2026 Programme, Inviting Students to Develop Tourism Villages
PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) is once again presenting the Genera-Z Berbakti 2026 programme, which opens opportunities for students from various universities in Indonesia to contribute directly to the development of tourism villages through community service activities.
The programme is designed as a platform for students who wish to implement innovative ideas through activities such as Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN), community service programmes, or similar initiatives in BCA-sponsored tourism villages.
BCA’s Executive Vice President for Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility, Hera F. Haryn, explained that Genera-Z Berbakti is a call for proposals programme for student groups committed to carrying out direct community service activities.
According to Hera, BCA views the younger generation as having great potential due to their critical thinking and adaptability to technological developments and innovations.
“Genera-Z Berbakti serves as a platform for students to bring real solutions to society through their ideas and innovations. This programme is not merely community service but also part of efforts to prepare competent and integrity-driven future leaders towards Indonesia’s Golden Vision 2045,” said Hera in a written statement on Monday (30/3/2026).
The Genera-Z Berbakti programme was first held in 2025. At that time, four student groups from four universities were selected as winners and carried out community service programmes in BCA-sponsored tourism villages. The participants received support in the form of mentoring, training, guidance, and funding from BCA until the programme was completed.
For this year’s edition, BCA will again select four of the best student groups. Each group will receive funding and mentoring during the one-month programme implementation.
Additionally, the top-performing group will receive extra recognition worth hundreds of millions of rupiah along with a certificate of appreciation.
Each participating group must consist of 10 to 12 students from across study programmes or faculties. In their proposals, participants can choose a maximum of two main issues to focus on.
The issues that can be selected include sustainable tourism, UMKM development, education, environment, health, and culture.
Participants can also choose the location for their activities from several BCA-sponsored tourism villages, including Desa Wisata Kreatif Terong in Belitung Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands; Desa Wisata Situs Gunung Padang in Cianjur Regency, West Java; Desa Wisata Patakbanteng in Wonosobo Regency, Central Java; and Desa Wisata Kakaskasen Dua in Tomohon City, North Sulawesi.
Registration for Genera-Z Berbakti 2026 is open until 24 April 2026. The announcement of finalists is scheduled for 30 April, while the judging stage will take place on 16–17 May 2026 before determining the winners.
Subsequently, the winners will attend a bootcamp and departure to the activity locations in the first week of July 2026. The community service programme in the tourism villages will run until 6 August 2026, before participants submit reports and final presentations in the second week of August.
Hera hopes this programme will encourage students to actively engage in community development from an early stage.
“BCA hopes that Genera-Z Berbakti 2026 can serve as a stimulus for students to contribute to nation-building. This programme not only brings benefits to society but also cultivates leadership, creativity, and social awareness among the younger generation,” said Hera.
In the previous edition, the Genera-Z Berbakti programme successfully gathered more than 250 proposals from 98 universities both domestically and internationally. The four selected teams came from Universitas Indonesia (UI), Universitas Lampung (Unila), Universitas Sam Ratulangi (Unsrat), and Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM).
