BCA Invites Students to Be More Prepared to Face Global Challenges
As a manifestation of its commitment and concern for the world of education, and efforts to prepare superior human resources to welcome Indonesia’s Golden 2045, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) held a public lecture titled BCA Berbagi Ilmu (BBI) at Bina Nusantara University (Binus) in Jakarta. Attended by more than 560 students, the event featured BCA Director Haryanto T Budiman, addressing the theme From Lecture Hall to Real World: Thriving in a Turbulent Era.
“BBI is one of BCA’s efforts to prepare the younger generation to be more ready to face global challenges. We believe that Indonesia’s young generation can grow strong and dynamic in facing the increasingly rapidly changing global dynamics. Strong character and steadfast principles must be possessed by every young person, so they can navigate times full of challenges and become individuals with superior values thereafter,” said Haryanto, as quoted from an official statement on Thursday (9/4).
Furthermore, Haryanto stated that education is crucial for Indonesia’s future. Without quality education, the benefits of Indonesia’s demographic superiority will not be optimally realised. BCA consistently strives to contribute to improving the quality of education and human resources (HR) in Indonesia.
“The younger generation, especially students, must be able to move quickly, be adaptive, and effectively implement the values learned in the academic world when entering the workforce or starting a business. In addition, we must continue to uphold integrity. These values have been applied by BCA internally in the company, solely to deliver the best products and services to customers,” he said.
In this BBI session, BCA also socialised the Genera-Z Berbakti programme. This call-for-proposal concept programme is aimed at active student groups in Diploma III, Applied Bachelor, or Bachelor programmes at universities in Indonesia who have enthusiasm for community development in villages.
In this programme, BCA will provide funding, mentoring, and opportunities for students to directly implement their ideas in BCA’s Desa Bakti villages.
Student groups can participate in this programme by submitting programme proposals and fulfilling various requirements and conditions as regulated on BCA’s official website.
“BCA consistently opens opportunities for collaboration with all universities. Through collaboration between banking institutions and educational institutions like this, we believe that in the future, more Indonesian HR can grow to become good leaders for themselves and society. We are committed to bringing positive impacts to all levels of society, from individuals, communities, and ecosystems,” said EVP Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility BCA, Hera F. Haryn.
It should be noted that BBI is a routine programme organised by Bakti BCA in the education sector since 2023, in the format of public lectures by BCA’s Board of Directors. In the 2025 edition, BBI was held at 9 universities and attended by more than 6,300 students.
BCA’s Directors take turns as speakers in each BBI edition. BBI represents the ongoing commitment of Bakti BCA in supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
