BCA hopes new BI leadership will continue to drive national economy
President Director of PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA), Hendra Lembong, expressed hope that the new leadership of Bank Indonesia (BI) can continue to help Indonesia’s economic growth improve further in the future.
‘Regarding the question of the BI Governor, we await further news. The message for the candidates is, of course, to always be enthusiastic about helping Indonesia’s economic growth become even better,’ Hendra said during the BCA First Half 2026 Performance Press Conference in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Regarding the leadership succession at the central bank, Hendra stated that his party is still closely monitoring the current dynamics and developments.
Alongside this, BCA EVP Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility, Hera F. Haryn, expressed her hope that the new BI leadership can work together to drive national economic growth.
‘Regarding the new Bank Indonesia Governor, we hope to continue to give encouragement to work together to grow the national economy, so together,’ Hera said.
In principle, BCA supports the government and regulators’ efforts to strengthen the financial services industry, and is committed to conducting business while upholding prudential principles and implementing disciplined risk management.
As is known, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi stated that President Prabowo Subianto has accepted the resignation of BI Governor Perry Warjiyo and will follow up according to the mechanism stipulated in the BI Law.
Prasetyo added that, in accordance with the provisions of the Bank Indonesia Law, the position of BI Governor will temporarily be held by Senior Deputy Governor Destry Damayanti until a definitive governor is appointed.
‘Going forward, in accordance with the Bank Indonesia Law, the position of Bank Indonesia Governor will automatically be held by the Senior Deputy Governor, who will subsequently carry out all duties as Acting Governor. The Senior Deputy Governor in question is Ms Destry Damayanti,’ said Prasetyo.
