Jakarta — The Director of PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA), Hendra Tanumihardja, said that the BBI (BCA Berbagi Ilmu) programme is a manifestation of the bank’s commitment and concern for the world of education by giving students the opportunity to learn directly from practitioners and company leaders to become professionals.

‘BCA’s presence at Untirta serves as a bridge for students transitioning from the academic world to resilient professionals,’ he said at an event at Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University (Untirta) in Serang, Banten, as quoted in a statement released in Jakarta on Wednesday.

On that occasion, he urged students not to fear failure in pursuit of success.

According to Hendra, the younger generation should view failure as an opportunity to bounce back, especially in a situation that is increasingly competitive and dynamic, which requires the ability to endure and adapt.

‘Like the Ukemi philosophy in martial arts, the younger generation should interpret a fall as a chance to rise again,’ he added.

At BCA, the Ukemi philosophy is said to align with what is implemented at the corporation. This philosophy is also one of the guiding principles to become resilient in facing various challenges, competition, and economic conditions, so the company continues to grow, develop, and move forward.

EVP Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility BCA Hera F Haryn added that the BBI programme is one reflection of education as the best investment for a nation.

She hopes BBI will not merely share theory, but also prepare students for the dynamic world of work.

‘We also open up broader collaboration opportunities with universities, noting that earlier programmes have opened positive collaboration opportunities for both sides, especially concerning financial services,’ Hera said.

Concurrently, BCA, under the Bakti BCA umbrella, also handed over assistance in the form of Solar Panel Charging Bakti BCA. One function of this facility is to provide clean energy from sunlight for Untirta’s academic community to charge devices.

Hera said this step is part of BCA’s support for green campus initiatives in efforts to reduce emissions.

She hopes the Solar Panel Charging Bakti BCA presence will raise awareness of adopting environmentally friendly solutions for all academic cadres at Untirta. At the same time, the innovation is expected to support teaching and learning activities.

‘The Solar Panel Charging Station Bakti BCA at Untirta is gazebo-shaped, so students can carry out daily activities there, from studying and discussing to simply socialising,’ she said.
