BCA Finance still studying Molinas programme
Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Director of BCA Finance Petrus Karim said the company is still studying the National Electric Motorcycle (Molinas) programme and has not yet determined what form of contribution it will take to support the initiative.
“We cannot comment yet because this is new, so we are still studying it,” Petrus said when confirmed during a press conference for BCA Expo 2026 in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Nevertheless, he assured that BCA Finance, a multifinance subsidiary of PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) or BCA, will support government programmes, including Molinas.
“BCA, as a fairly large bank, will certainly support government programmes. We will definitely support them. Later we will see the results of studying it, and we can position ourselves, what kind of programme, and so on,” Petrus explained.
President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated the domestically produced National Electric Motorcycle (Molinas) and its supporting ecosystem at the production facility of PT Ilectra Motor Group (ALVA) in Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, West Java, on Thursday (13/8).
The programme is one of the government’s steps to strengthen the development of the national electric motorcycle industry and encourage the formation of an integrated electric vehicle ecosystem.
Meanwhile, Danantara CEO Rosan Perkasa said all banks and financial institutions under Danantara (Himbara/Association of State-Owned Banks) are ready to support Molinas by providing funding at lower interest rates.
Rosan also said Danantara plans to reduce or even eliminate the 10 percent down payment (DP).
The move aims to increase public interest in buying electric motorcycles.
“So that we have the ability to accelerate the production of national electric motorcycles in Indonesia,” Rosan said.
Rosan, who is also Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), assessed that the potential market for electric motorcycles in Indonesia reaches 170 billion US dollars, or around Rp3,036 trillion (at an exchange rate of Rp17,858.70).
