Jakarta (ANTARA) – PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) estimates that the export potential of the SMEs it supports and which are participating in Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2026 will reach US$8.32 million, or Rp148.75 billion.

The potential value for SMEs supported by Bakti BCA is up 34.12 per cent on the previous year’s TEI figure of Rp110.9 billion.

“We hope participation in TEI 2026 will open up opportunities for sustainable partnerships and encourage more Indonesian SMEs to enter export markets,” BCA Executive Vice-President for Corporate Communication and Social Responsibility Hera F Haryn said in a statement in Jakarta on Monday.

BCA facilitated the participation of 12 of its supported SMEs at the exhibition, held in Tangerang, Banten, from 14 to 18 October 2026. Their participation aimed to introduce their leading products to potential buyers from global markets.

During the exhibition, the SMEs recorded 122 business-matching meetings and signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs), creating business-networking opportunities in 20 destination countries.

Hera said Indonesian SMEs had the quality and potential to compete in global markets.

Through its BCA UMKM Go Export programme, the bank therefore provides businesses with step-by-step support, from improving their legal readiness and securing certification and permits for international products to preparing company profiles and catalogues, expanding market access and connecting them with prospective buyers.

The participation of the 12 SMEs in TEI 2026 was part of a development programme that began before the exhibition.

BCA started by selecting from 148 SMEs it had supported during 2023–2025, then provided training through three online incubation classes. The classes covered product development and B2B export catalogues, price-negotiation strategies and sample orders, as well as export-transaction simulations and secure payments.

The selected SMEs operate in two sectors: food and beverages, and agriculture. Their products included coffee and cocoa, spices and natural ingredients, agricultural produce and seeds, dried and instant noodles, sauces and seasonings, plant-based foods and frozen food.

During the exhibition, BCA provided a Bakti BCA booth to promote products and facilitate meetings with prospective buyers, trade attachés and representatives of Indonesian Trade Promotion Centres (ITPCs). The bank also provided facilities for signing MoUs to help create business partnership opportunities.

Alongside expanding market access, BCA offered banking solutions for export-oriented businesses, including working-capital financing, overseas payments and other payment services.

The support is expected to help businesses build their capacity while preparing for the transaction requirements of international trade.

“For BCA, expanding market access needs to go hand in hand with business readiness and appropriate financial support,” Hera said.

She added that BCA also hoped participation in TEI 2026 would be a first step for the supported SMEs to follow up on business opportunities, from negotiations and orders through to the completion of exports.

“BCA will continue to support SME development through business assistance, market access and banking solutions relevant to their needs,” Hera said.
