BCA Digital: QRIS remains the main driver of digital transaction volume until 2026
PT Bank Digital BCA (BCA Digital) has noted that the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) remains the primary pillar of total digital transaction volumes, excluding transfers, over the last three years.
Head of Corporate Planning at BCA Digital, Yoga T Halim, stated during a press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday that the total volume of digital transactions, excluding transfers, reached Rp13.13 trillion as of August 2026, representing a 186 per cent surge.
“The largest contribution comes from QRIS transactions, which account for 36 per cent of the total transaction volume,” said Yoga.
Furthermore, he noted that the frequency of daily transactions as of 31 August 2026 also recorded a significant jump. The daily frequency of QRIS transactions soared by 124 per cent year-on-year, supported by the introduction of various QRIS variations, such as QRIS CPM, QRIS Tun-Tas, and QRIS Tap.
“The use of QRIS increased by 100 per cent. QRIS is also an initial and primary feature developed within blu by BCA Digital. As we know, the figures are quite encouraging, rising by more than 100 per cent year-on-year,” Yoga added.
In addition to QRIS, other digital financial features that led BCA Digital’s performance as of late August 2026 include e-wallets. The use of this service grew by 71 per cent annually, bolstered by the addition of various e-wallet partner integrations and direct connections within the blu by BCA Digital ecosystem.
Furthermore, the bluPayment feature grew by 56 per cent year-on-year through the addition of over 100 partners, while the performance of the Pay/Buy (Biller) feature showed a 44 per cent year-on-year increase, following the addition of three new biller categories and more than 300 additional billers.
During the first half of 2026, Third-Party Funds (DPK) were recorded to have grown by 20 per cent annually, supported by a 25 per cent year-on-year increase in Net Open Customer (NOC).
“This growth is driven by a very dominant young demographic, where 56 per cent of blu customers are Gen Z and 35 per cent are Millennials (totaling 91 per cent digital natives),” said Yoga.
“The rate of new customer acquisition was led by Gen Z with 30 per cent year-on-year growth, followed by Millennials at 20 per cent year-on-year,” he added.
On the other hand, BCA Digital Business Director Aditya Wahyu Windarwo stated that the first five years of blu by BCA Digital’s journey were a phase of building foundations, public trust, and a proven business scale.
“Entering the expansion phase ahead, our focus is on deepening the ecosystem, where we ensure that blu does not merely become a preferred digital banking application, but an inseparable part of the daily financial lifestyle of the Indonesian people in a sustainable manner,” said Aditya.
