Jakarta (ANTARA) – PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) has continued its workshop programme providing free halal certification services, targeting 61 micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) at two locations: Cibubur and Pontianak.

“Through this initiative, we hope more MSMEs will gain access to halal certification, enabling them to increase the added value of their products and tap into broader market opportunities,” BCA Executive Vice-President for Corporate Communication and Social Responsibility Hera F Haryn said in a press statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.

She said the free halal certification event in Cibubur was held at the Cibubur Main Branch Office on 13 October 2026, with 22 participants.

A similar event followed at the Pontianak Main Branch Office on 21 October 2026, drawing 39 participants.

Workshop participants were also offered banking services, including account opening and QRIS, Indonesia’s standardised QR payment system.

Hera added that BCA provided the free halal certification service to strengthen MSME capacity, resilience and competitiveness, and help businesses expand their market reach. She said halal certification was also important for building consumer confidence.

The latest workshops continue a programme that has been running since 2023. BCA’s free halal certification workshops have reached 23 regencies and cities across 15 provinces.

According to Hera, more than 6,000 people have attended the workshops to date, and over 4,000 halal certificates have been issued.

Earlier this year, BCA held free halal certification workshops at its Kubu Raya Main Branch Office, attended by 54 participants, and at its Tanjung Priok Main Branch Office, with 114 participants.

“We hope this programme can help more MSMEs meet halal certification requirements, improve the quality and competitiveness of their products, and expand business opportunities amid increasingly competitive markets,” Hera said.

She added that BCA would continue promoting initiatives that create added value for the growth of MSMEs in Indonesia.
