BCA Confirms Mobile App Normal After Outage, Urges Customers to Report Unrecovered Funds
JAKARTA - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) confirmed its BCA Mobile application is operating normally after experiencing an error yesterday afternoon, Monday (25 May 2026).
Hera F. Haryn, EVP of Corporate Communication and Social Responsibility at BCA, said the app has been usable since last night.
“Currently, BCA’s e-channel services are available for transactions,” Hera said on Monday.
She added that the bank immediately took mitigation and recovery steps upon identifying the issue with the mobile banking app.
“Regarding the disruption to some BCA e-Channel services this afternoon (Monday), we apologise for the inconvenience caused to customers,” she said.
However, she urged customers still experiencing issues such as frozen funds due to yesterday’s error to contact BCA’s contact centre via official channels: Halo BCA 1500888, the haloBCA app, the Help Centre in the myBCA app, WhatsApp Bank BCA 0811-1500-998, social media X @HaloBCA, Webchat on BCA’s official website, or email halobca@bca.co.id.
Based on customer complaints on social media, the mobile banking app was unable to process virtual account transactions and fund transfers, though other services like QRIS payments remained functional.
A BCA customer said they were unable to top up their Flazz e-money balance on Monday afternoon, despite the amount being deducted from their account.
“I also encountered errors; five Flazz top-up attempts failed. When I called customer service, they said there was still an issue,” Kiki said on Monday.
Even after the BCA Mobile app resumed normal operations, her deducted balance had not been restored as of this morning.
“The outage has ended, but my balance hasn’t been returned yet,” Kiki said.
“I’ll check again around 1pm, as it’s usually within 24 hours,” she added when contacted this morning.
Kiki expressed frustration over the outage, citing not only the deducted balance and failed top-ups but also having to spend money on phone credit to contact customer service.
“Customer service was hard to reach by phone, and the WhatsApp chat wasn’t working. I had to recharge my phone twice with Rp15,000 due to repeated disconnections. It’s been a stressful day,” she lamented.
