PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA), through its Bakti BCA Programme, is contributing to the economic development of Patakbanteng Tourism Village in Kejajar District, Wonosobo Regency, Central Java. VP of Corporate Social Responsibility at BCA, Nona Faletta, stated that Bakti BCA’s presence in Patakbanteng is still in the early stages of finalising its assistance programme design. The tourism village development involves three main phases. The first phase is focused on designing the programme based on business potentials and opportunities identified with the village community. The second enabling phase will concentrate on strengthening the institutional and human resource capacity of the tourism village over one year. The third phase is directed at expanding market access and promoting Patakbanteng Tourism Village to a wider public. EVP of Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility at BCA, Hera F. Haryn, noted that Patakbanteng has great potential to develop as a community-based tourism destination. She explained that BCA continuously encourages each Bakti BCA village to highlight its unique characteristics through a comprehensive assistance strategy, ranging from coaching and capacity building to market access expansion. Beyond village assistance, Patakbanteng is also a site for the Genera-Z Berbakti 2026 programme, a call for proposals for student groups to conduct community service. Patakbanteng Tourism Village Head, Solikin, recounted that the village represented Wonosobo Regency in a 2024 tourism village competition and won first place in the resilience category, partly because all site managers hold rescue certificates from the National Professional Certification Agency. Solikin noted the tourism sector has created substantial economic opportunities for residents. Besides tourism, Patakbanteng is known as a centre for potato and purwaceng plant farming, and has home industries producing carica sweets and potato crisps. However, Solikin acknowledged that young people’s interest in agriculture remains relatively low, so the village is striving to develop agro-tourism concepts to introduce farming to visitors and attract the younger generation.
