BBTF 2026 concludes with Rp6.9 trillion in transactions
Delegates from South Africa and other nations expressed admiration for Bali’s continued status as a safe and appealing destination. Badung (ANTARA) – The Bali & Beyond Travel Fair (BBTF) 2026 concluded its three-day agenda with total transactions of Rp6.9 trillion.
“The estimated transaction value is Rp6.9 trillion. Although this is a positive result, transaction figures alone do not reflect the success of the travel market; its impact continues through business agreements, market expansion, strategic partnerships, product development, and increased visitor inflows to Indonesia,” said BBTF 2026 Committee Chairman I Putu Winastra in Badung Regency on Saturday.
Winastra, who is also Chairman of Asita Bali, noted that the majority of travel package purchases and collaborations were with Asian and Australian markets, with South Africa emerging as a new market.
“Delegates from South Africa and other nations attended, expressing admiration for the situation and Bali’s continued status as a safe and appealing destination,” he said.
Although Rp6.9 trillion is a significant figure, the transactions declined from BBTF 2025’s Rp7.84 trillion but remained in line with this year’s expectations.
This figure reflects a shift in tourism operators’ target markets from distant regions like Europe and America to the Asia-Pacific region, in response to geopolitical conflicts.
In addition to successfully targeting nearby tourist markets, BBTF 2026 identified three key realities for the tourism industry: sustained confidence in Bali and Indonesia amid global competition; evolving market expectations where international operators seek professional destinations; and future competitiveness determined by preparedness.
Deputy Minister of Tourism Ni Luh Puspa praised the role of tourism industry stakeholders for these achievements.
Moreover, BBTF 2026 showcased numerous destinations outside Bali to tourism operators from 44 countries.
“BBTF is remarkable because it does more than just promote Bali. When people say ‘don’t just focus on Bali, Bali, Bali’, I see destinations outside Bali such as West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Belitung, and village tourism from various regions brought by Bank Indonesia, along with other provinces like Jakarta and Manado. This showcases and strengthens Indonesia’s position as a world-class tourist destination,” she said.
The Deputy Minister also noted the attractiveness of Indonesian sellers’ tourism packages, which contributed to the Rp6.9 trillion in transactions.
Bali Governor Wayan Koster added that the travel fair is an effective promotional tool for Bali’s tourism.
He confirmed that for the 13th BBTF in 2027, the Bali Provincial Government will provide stronger support and involve all 12 regencies and cities to promote their destinations.
“Prepare now, assess what’s lacking, and ensure the 2027 event has richer content. I will support this collaboration with regents and mayors so they feel more accountable for Bali’s tourism, rather than just passive beneficiaries of PHR,” Koster said.
