BBPMP Central Java Prepares Transition School for Banyumas SNT Students

The Central Java Education Quality Assurance Agency (BBPMP) has arranged a transition school for students of the Banyumas Integrated National School (SNT) at SMP Negeri 1 Kalibagor, pending the construction of a permanent facility in the Kendalisada area, Kaliori, scheduled for October 2026. Dedy Gunawan, Head of General Affairs at BBPMP Central Java, stated that teaching and learning activities for both junior and senior high school levels will temporarily take place at the designated transition school. He noted that public interest in SNT Banyumas was very high, particularly for the junior high level, where 74 applicants registered for only 40 available places. The selection results announced on Monday evening confirmed 40 successful junior high applicants with 10 on the reserve list, while the senior high level saw 57 applicants for 40 places, with eight reserves. Dedy explained that the selection process utilised a scholastic aptitude test and did not apply the decile system used in Sekolah Rakyat, ensuring that high-achieving students from any decile have an equal opportunity. Successful applicant Margaretha Grace VS expressed her delight at being accepted, citing the school’s more complete facilities and selected teachers as reasons for her choice over a state junior high school. Fellow applicant Mohammed Mikhaila Zain Prasetya, who aspires to be a volleyball athlete, said he was encouraged by his teachers and parents to join the school for its good facilities and supportive learning environment. His mother, Jumilah, said she researched the school beforehand and believes the gathering of high-achieving students will help develop her son’s mindset, academic performance, and character.
