Bomb scare: Garuda Indonesia Flight GA408 was forced to return to
Soekarno-Hatta International Airport just minutes after take-off
Tuesday evening when airport officials received a telephone call
claiming that there was a bomb onboard. After the plane landed
safely, police evacuated all 280 passengers and began scouring
the plane and all the luggage aboard. The exhaustive search was
continuing at 9:30 p.m. with no bomb found so far. The plane was
bound for Denpasar, Bali -- JP
Yemen acts on bin Laden's supporters: Yemeni forces stormed a
hideout of Islamic militants linked to Osama bin Laden on Tuesday
in the first military action of its kind in Yemen since the
September 11 attacks on the United States. Tribal and security
sources said that 12 people from both sides were killed and at
least 22 wounded when special forces used helicopters and tanks
against the al-Jalal tribe, who were sheltering the militants in
Marib province, some 140 kms (85 miles) east of the capital
