Blast at Jakarta Church: Police have detained two men who are
suspected of throwing an explosive device into Petra Church in
Koja, North Jakarta, late Friday night. City police spokesman
Snr. Comr. Anton Bachrul Alam told Jakarta Post that two men, one
aged 17 and the other 20, were apprehended by police not far from
the scene of the explosion after police became suspicious of
their movements. At least two explosive devices were confiscated
from them. No one was hurt in the explosion, which occurred
around 8 p.m. at the Protestant church. There was no immediate
report of casualties with only minor damage to the church and
several windows broken. The church was conducting a special mass
for Maluku when the explosion occurred. -- JP
