BBG Deemed the Energy Solution for the Future: Cost-Effective and Environmentally Friendly

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Bahan Bakar Gas (BBG) is considered capable of becoming a solution for future energy needs. Technically, BBG can serve as an alternative energy source while establishing a new standard that supports optimal vehicle engine performance and is environmentally friendly. Operations and Commercial Director of PT Gagas Energi Indonesia (Gagas), Maisalina, stated that BBG contains a high octane value (Research Octane Number/RON) ranging from 120 to 130. Maisalina explained that as a fuel primarily composed of methane (CH4), BBG combustion in engines is more complete and environmentally friendly. She noted that BBG also produces about 20 percent lower carbon emissions compared to petroleum-based fuels (BBM) and leaves no residue on engine components. “With optimal benefits for the engine, the use of BBG can make engines last longer and reduce maintenance costs,” she said. BBG tanks are designed to high safety standards. In the event of a leak, the gas will quickly rise and dissipate in the air, preventing explosions. “The public need not worry about safety aspects, as the installation of every converter kit and BBG tank follows international safety standards by competent experts,” Maisalina clarified. For trucks or buses, average daily consumption is 125 to 165 LSP. One LSP can cover up to 10 km. “BBG prices are also stable at Rp 4,500 per LSP, very affordable since the gas source is domestic,” Maisalina added.
