Jakarta — Foreign investors recorded net selling (net foreign sell) of several shares on the Indonesia Stock Exchange on Monday (16 March 2026), though overall they still posted net purchases of Rp1.02 trillion across the entire market.

Based on trading data, the total value of foreign investor purchases reached Rp7.26 trillion, whilst the value of sales was recorded at Rp6.24 trillion. Nevertheless, the foreign sell-off was concentrated on large-capitalisation shares, particularly in the banking sector.

Sectionally, the list of shares most heavily sold by foreign investors was dominated by major banking issuers, followed by mining and technology shares. This sell-off in top-tier bank shares occurred amid the weakening of the Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG), which closed down 1.61% to the level of 7,022.29 at the end of yesterday’s trading.

PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) became the share most heavily sold by foreign investors, with net foreign sell reaching Rp400.1 billion. Total transactions of BBCA shares in yesterday’s trading were recorded at Rp985.7 billion.

Along with the foreign sell-off, BBCA shares fell 1.09% to the level of 6,800, adding to the price pressure that has been occurring since the beginning of the month.

Besides jumbo bank shares, foreign investors also recorded net selling in ASII, TLKM, TPIA, CMRY, ZATA, HRUM, TRUE, MKPI, and BUKA.
