Jakarta (ANTARA) – The National Zakat Agency (Baznas) of the Republic of Indonesia is strengthening its collaboration in the distribution of humanitarian aid with the Palestinian Ambassador to Indonesia, Abdalfatah A.K. Alsattari, during a meeting in Jakarta on Monday (23 February).

“Our commitment to helping Palestine will never waver, and we continue to strive to ensure it continues without interruption. Every aid package that reaches them is distributed with sincerity,” said the Chairman of Baznas RI, Noor Achmad, in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Noor said this strategic collaboration is being carried out to ensure that aid for the Palestinian people is distributed more effectively, sustainably, and reaches crucial sectors.

He stated that Indonesia’s support for the struggle of the Palestinian people is a permanent and ongoing humanitarian mandate. He expressed his commitment to keeping the flame of hope alive in Gaza through the continuous distribution of aid.

Noor explained that various logistical challenges and blockades often hinder the flow of aid, especially in the Gaza region. Through close coordination with the Palestinian Embassy, it is hoped that a smoother distribution mechanism will emerge, including strengthening access to scholarships for Palestinian students who have long faced bureaucratic obstacles.

In response, the Palestinian Ambassador to Indonesia, Abdalfatah A.K. Alsattari, described the crisis in Gaza as worse than the impact of the nuclear bombs in Japan. Of the survivors, about 40 per cent have lost limbs, the majority of whom are women and children.

He also conveyed greetings from the President and the people of Palestine to the people of Indonesia and expressed his appreciation for Indonesia’s support for Palestine.
