Baznas Sends Emergency Aid to Fire Victims in Sukabumi

The National Alms Agency (Baznas) has moved swiftly to distribute emergency aid to residents affected by a fire in Kasepuhan Ciptamulya, Sukabumi Regency, West Java, as a form of care in meeting the basic needs of the disaster-stricken community. Idy Muzayyad, Baznas Head of Distribution, Utilisation, and Empowerment, stated that the agency is committed to being present among communities affected by disasters as a tangible manifestation of concern and the trust placed by muzaki (zakat payers). “Baznas moved quickly to distribute emergency aid so that survivors can immediately obtain the basic necessities they require. We hope this assistance can slightly ease the burden of our brothers and sisters facing this trial,” Idy said in a written statement on Monday. Idy explained that the distributed aid includes staple food packages, sleeping mats, blankets, hygiene kits, and ready-to-eat meals. The assistance is expected to lighten the load on survivors while helping to meet urgent needs during the emergency response period. “Baznas will continue to strengthen its disaster response through collaboration with various parties so that disaster management is swift, well-targeted, and provides optimal benefits to the community,” he said. According to Idy, this aid is tangible proof that zakat, infak, and sedekah funds entrusted by muzaki can be a source of strength to help others in their time of greatest need. He expressed hope that the aid distributed by Baznas can help the community through the emergency response period and accelerate the post-disaster recovery process. “Baznas also invites all elements of society to continue fostering a spirit of mutual cooperation and concern for disaster survivors across various regions in Indonesia,” Idy Muzayyad concluded.
