Jakarta — The National Zakat Agency (Baznas) of the Republic of Indonesia distributed 100,000 litres of clean water donated by Indonesian communities to help meet the clean-water needs of 2,500 people in the Al Jalaa region of Gaza, Palestine. “Alhamdulillah, penyaluran air bersih telah dilaksanakan. Ini merupakan kebutuhan vital yang tidak bisa ditunda pemenuhannya, terlebih dalam kondisi darurat akibat konflik berkepanjangan dan di bulan suci Ramadan ini,” said Chairman Noor Achmad of Baznas RI in a statement released in Jakarta on Wednesday. Noor emphasised that the water aid distribution represents the ongoing concern of Indonesian society for the people of Palestine. “Mereka rela antre di depan truk-truk tangki air demi mendapatkan air yang layak dikonsumsi,” he said. Noor also stressed that Baznas RI will continue to commit to sending clean-water supplies to help them cope with the water crisis in Palestinian lands. Baznas RI, he added, will continue to monitor developments in Gaza, with a focus on ensuring basic needs such as food, water, and health services remain accessible to residents. “We hope what has been distributed will benefit the residents of Palestine and help them overcome their difficulties,” Noor Achmad said.
