Baznas Riau targets 2026 zakat collection of Rp70.4 billion
Pekanbaru — The National Zakat Agency (Baznas) of Riau Province has set a target of receiving zakat contributions in 2026 amounting to Rp70.4 billion, representing an increase of approximately Rp10 billion compared to the achievements recorded in 2025.
The Head of Baznas Riau Province, Masriadi Hasan, stated that the agency continues to optimise the zakat potential present within society. He also expressed hope for support and prayers from the entire community so that the established targets can be achieved.
“The zakat collection target for 2026 is Rp70.4 billion. That is approximately Rp10 billion higher compared to 2025. We seek the prayers of the community so that we can collect zakat according to target, because our potential remains substantial,” said Masriadi in Pekanbaru on Friday.
He explained that Baznas serves as a government partner in zakat management. Therefore, the various programmes implemented are also aligned with government programmes, whilst remaining adapted to Islamic jurisprudence and zakat law requirements.
He disclosed that zakat collection continues to proceed at present. Given that the current month is March, the amount of zakat collected typically has not yet reached its peak.
“Because this is still March, zakat typically collected amounts to roughly Rp4.5 billion in a single month. This means that by the third month, around March, we could reach approximately Rp10 to Rp11 billion,” he said.
Meanwhile, Assistant I of the Secretariat of Riau Province Regional Government, Zulkifli Syukur, stated that Baznas Riau has consistently recorded achievements at the national level in zakat management. The agency frequently receives awards from the National Zakat Agency.
According to him, this success is inseparable from the active role of civil servants from the Riau Provincial Government who consistently distribute zakat. It is evident that Baznas has successfully collected zakat funds of approximately Rp60 billion over the course of one year.
