Baznas RI Strengthens Synergy in Global Humanitarian Programmes with Qatar
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) of Indonesia is strengthening the synergy of partnerships in humanitarian programmes, community empowerment, and seeking solutions to the dynamics and global economic challenges facing the Muslim community with Qatar.
This was highlighted during an audience between Baznas RI Chairman Sodik Mudjahid and the Qatari Ambassador to Indonesia, Sultan bin Mubarak Saad Al-Dosari, in a meeting held at the Office of the Embassy of Qatar to Indonesia in Jakarta on Tuesday (5/5).
Sodik also presented various community development and empowerment programmes that have been implemented, funded by zakat, infak, and sedekah (ZIS) funds entrusted by the public.
He assessed that the explanation of these programmes represents the commitment and accountability of Baznas as a professional, transparent, and impactful national zakat management institution.
The Qatari Ambassador to Indonesia, Sultan, welcomed Baznas’s efforts to strengthen global partnerships to enhance the quality of humanitarian programmes and global community empowerment.
The audience also discussed several potential strategic cooperations, including strengthening cross-border zakat management, support for global humanitarian programmes, and opportunities for collaboration in distributing aid to communities in need in various regions, including areas affected by conflict and disasters.
As a result of the meeting, Baznas RI and the Government of Qatar agreed to continue strengthening institutional relations and communication as a foundation for building long-term cooperation, particularly in the field of community empowerment and strengthening Muslim solidarity at the global level.
It is hoped that through this synergy, the relationship between Baznas RI and the Government of Qatar can become even closer, sustainable, and able to make a real contribution to improving community welfare and strengthening the role of zakat as an instrument of community development on the international stage.
