Jakarta – The National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) RI, through the Baznas Health House (RSB), is providing free health services to the public, particularly mustahik around Masjid Raya Al-Azhar Jababeka in Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, West Java.

Baznas RI official in charge of Distribution and Utilisation, Saidah Sakwan, said the free health services programme is part of Baznas’s efforts to improve the welfare of mustahik through zakat utilisation.

‘The zakat disbursed by muzaki is entrusted to Baznas, and is channelled to eight asnaf who truly need it,’ she said in a statement from Jakarta, on Saturday.

Saidah explained that a range of health services are provided, from health checks, medical consultations, to treatment. In addition, the public also receives medicines in accordance with the diagnosis.

‘We want to ensure that the public, especially mustahik, can access dignified and easily accessible health services. Through this programme, the benefits of zakat are hoped to be directly felt by those in need,’ she added.

Saidah noted that health is one of the key factors in determining the welfare level of society. Deteriorating health conditions often lead to increased family economic burdens.

Therefore, she emphasised that Baznas will continue to present various social and humanitarian programmes, including health services, to assist those in need and strengthen the role of zakat in improving the quality of life of Indonesians.

Saidah hopes that this free health service programme will not only help people receive treatment but also raise awareness of the importance of maintaining health and broaden the benefits of zakat funds for the welfare of the ummah.
