One of our primary efforts is to transform mustahik into muzaki. Therefore, this is a good opportunity for mustahik to quickly generate income through this training.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Board of Zakat (Baznas) RI has reopened the second wave of its free Sharia Massage, Spa, and Cupping Vocational Training Programme in Tangerang, Banten, to improve the competence, job readiness, and economic independence of mustahik.

Idy Muzayyad, the Head of Distribution, Utilisation, and Empowerment at Baznas RI, stated in a briefing in Jakarta on Tuesday that the Sharia Massage, Spa, and Cupping Vocational Training Programme is being reintroduced as part of Baznas’ efforts to empower mustahik, making them more self-sufficient while helping to reduce unemployment rates.

“Baznas continues to encourage the empowerment of mustahik. Through this training, it is hoped that the beneficiaries will possess better competence, readiness, and job opportunities,” he said.

Idy revealed that participants receive technical skills and soft skills training, certification, mentoring, and job placement facilitation through partner networks within the programme.

“One of our primary efforts is to transform mustahik into muzaki. Therefore, this is a good opportunity for mustahik to quickly generate income from this training,” he added.

Deden Kuswanda, Head of the Trade and General Division of Baznas RI, stated that vocational training is one of Baznas RI’s efforts to improve the welfare of mustahik while encouraging them to eventually become muzaki.

In addition to providing access to employment, he continued, Baznas RI also sees the potential for therapists to participate in various social and disaster relief programmes.

The therapists will eventually be able to become part of the Baznas volunteer team, deployed to assist communities in specific locations.

“The essence of vocational training is being ready to work and eventually becoming independent. These therapists can also collaborate with various Baznas programmes. Sometimes we (Baznas) set up posts, and the therapists assist volunteers, including at homecoming (mudik) posts and other services,” said Deden Kuswanda.
