Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) RI is strengthening its qurban service strategy this year to ensure broader distribution and deliver real economic impacts for communities throughout Indonesia.

Baznas RI Chairman Sodik Mudjahid, in an official statement in Jakarta on Monday, highlighted that qurban implementation must also consider aspects of strengthening the Muslim community’s economy as the foundation for national advancement.

“Therefore, we now want to build a new vision. The new vision of religion is that building the Muslim community’s economy must be as serious and earnest as when we engage in politics, organise Hajj, build mosques, schools, pesantrens, and hospitals,” he said.

In this regard, Sodik stated that his agency will focus on three main aspects: strengthening the collection of community funds, equitable and impactful utilisation, and accelerating integrated digitalisation.

Furthermore, Rizaludin Kurniawan, Head of Mobilisation and Collection at Baznas RI, emphasised the importance of incorporating spiritual values into qurban services, so that it does not merely become an annual routine.

“Current qurban fundraising needs to reinforce societal spiritual values by conveying religious, philosophical, and social meanings in a comprehensive manner,” he said.

Fundraising is the process of raising or collecting funds and other resources from individuals, companies, or institutions to support social goals, non-profit organisations, or specific campaigns.

Rizaludin also advocated for strengthening qurban services through improved dakwah communication quality, expansion of payment channels, acceleration of digitalisation, and enhancement of amil services, including transparent reporting to qurban donors.

In addition, the utilisation of digital channels is encouraged to facilitate public participation in qurban, including through more flexible payment schemes.

Meanwhile, Director General of Islamic Community Guidance (Bimas Islam) at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) RI, Abu Rokhmad, stressed the importance of strengthening synergy between zakat amil institutions (LAZ) and religious instructors to expand the reach of qurban services to the community.

“Such collaboration is key to reinforcing qurban outreach to deliver broader social impacts for the welfare of the Muslim community,” said Abu Rokhmad.

Previously, Baznas RI targeted the slaughter of one million sheep or goat equivalents, with an economic value of Rp2.5 trillion, for Eid al-Adha or Idul Kurban 1447 Hijriah/2026 nationally.

This target is formulated based on the 2025 qurban realisation of Rp2.3 trillion or equivalent to 790,554 sheep or goats managed by Baznas and Zakat Amil Institutions (LAZ).
