Baznas RI declares readiness to serve the public in the 2026 Qurban worship
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) of Indonesia has assured its readiness to serve the public in fulfilling the Qurban worship for Eid al-Adha 2026 through strengthened services and the optimisation of Qurban and Dam programmes. Mokhamad Mahdum, Head of Baznas RI’s Finance, Digitalisation, and Operations Division, stated in Jakarta on Thursday that the momentum of Eid al-Adha must be responded to with collective efforts from all Baznas ranks across Indonesia. He stressed the importance of synergy between the central and regional levels to maximise this year’s Qurban potential. “The Qurban momentum is right around the corner. We hope that all Baznas in Indonesia can move together to optimise the Qurban potential,” he said. He added that strengthening strategies are also being implemented through a fundraising by law and fundraising by marketing approach, including involving civil servants (ASN), employees of state-owned enterprises (BUMN)/regional-owned enterprises (BUMD), Zakat Collection Units (UPZ), and the utilisation of digital platforms. It is known that Baznas’ Qurban distribution in 2026 is targeted to reach up to 6,000 sheep or goat equivalents, while the Dam programme is projected to reach 10,000 sheep or goat equivalents. To date, 2,781 livestock have been consolidated from the Baznas Livestock Centre and partner breeder empowerment initiatives. Through these efforts, Baznas hopes that the implementation of Qurban 2026 can run optimally, provide broad benefits, and strengthen the welfare of livestock farmers and beneficiary communities.
