Baznas RI and PP Persis Strengthen Collaboration for Community Welfare

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Zakat Agency (Baznas) RI has welcomed efforts to strengthen collaboration with the Central Board of the Islamic Union (PP Persis) and LAZ Persis to expand community empowerment programmes and improve welfare through zakat management. Baznas RI Chairman Sodik Mudjahid stated in Jakarta on Sunday that the development of cooperation with the Amil Zakat Institution (LAZ) Persis could be directed towards various programmes oriented towards strengthening the pillars of the community and empowering mustahik. “Going forward, this synergy can be strengthened through various priority programmes oriented towards improving community welfare and strengthening mustahik empowerment,” he said. Sodik assessed that the development of cooperation with LAZ Persis can be directed towards various programmes oriented towards strengthening the pillars of the community and empowering mustahik. Meanwhile, PP Persis Chairman KH Jeje Zaenudin said that the cooperation established with Baznas since 2020 has provided benefits for scholarship recipients ranging from early childhood education, primary school, junior high school, senior high school, to university levels. Jeje expressed hope that the ongoing cooperation can be continued and that new programmes addressing community needs can be developed. “In addition to the Smart Community Programme, we see a great need for MSME empowerment and assistance for decent housing. Hopefully, we can continue to enhance this collaboration in the future,” said Jeje Zaenudin.
