Baznas RI and Kuningan Regency Government Strengthen Zakat Management Synergy
The National Zakat Agency (Baznas) of the Republic of Indonesia is strengthening regional zakat management synergy with the Kuningan Regency Government, West Java. Saidah Sakwan, Baznas RI’s Head of Organisation, Institution, and Regional Development, expressed deep appreciation for the strong support and commitment from the Regent in continuously synergising to strengthen the Baznas Kuningan institution, making it more professional, transparent, and broadly impactful for the community. Saidah stressed the importance of institutional strengthening at the regional level so that the management of zakat, infak, and sedekah funds can run more optimally and accountably. She hopes that appropriate guidance and mentoring steps can increase the effectiveness of distributing Baznas RI programmes based on productive economic empowerment in Kuningan. “Through this intensive coordination, we want to ensure that all assistance distributed is truly capable of transforming mustahik into new muzaki,” she said. Meanwhile, Kuningan Regent Dian Rachmat Yanuar also expressed appreciation for the various productive economic programmes from Baznas RI, which are considered very effective in building economic independence while improving the welfare of mustahik in his region. One such programme is assistance in developing a splatter batik business owned by a group of people with mental disabilities at the Antara Graha Berdaya Foundation in Tambakbaya Village, Kuningan Regency. “The distribution of economic and productive business programmes carried out by Baznas is a tangible form of utilising zakat funds to improve the welfare of mustahik while building their economic independence,” said Dian Rachmat.
