Baznas Provides Free Mass Circumcision Service at PIQ Al-Misbah Jakarta

The National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) RI held a free mass circumcision event and provided aid to 500 orphans and underprivileged children at the Pesantren Ilmu Al-Qur’an (PIQ) Al Misbah in Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta.

Baznas RI’s Head of Supervision and Control, Neyla Saida Anwar, expressed appreciation for the social and religious activity, which benefits the community, particularly orphans and underprivileged families. The event, held on Thursday (25/6), was attended by hundreds of children from low-income families across the Greater Jakarta area. In addition to receiving free circumcision services, participants also received aid as a form of care for orphans and underprivileged families during the month of Muharram.

“We are grateful to be part of this blessed activity. Muharram is a month synonymous with caring for orphans. Therefore, activities like this are excellent to continue promoting so that more people can feel the benefits,” she said. She noted that mass circumcision not only has health value but also helps underprivileged families with economic limitations to meet their needs and ensure their children receive proper and comfortable services.

“Collaborations like this must continue to be strengthened. When zakat institutions like Baznas, Islamic boarding schools, communities, and philanthropists move together, the resulting benefits will be far greater and can reach more beneficiaries,” she stated. Baznas RI is committed to optimising zakat, infak, and sedekah funds to provide a real impact on society through various strategic programmes.

“We want to ensure that every zakat mandate entrusted by the public can be returned to the community in the form of beneficial programmes that provide hope for those in need,” she said. Baznas will continue to be present to assist students in Islamic boarding schools, especially those who are orphans or from underprivileged families, through various educational, social, and humanitarian programmes. “Orphans and underprivileged children are part of the nation’s next generation who need attention and support. By providing happiness, education, and good guidance, we are preparing a better future for them,” concluded Neyla Saida Anwar.
