Baznas Partners with Jamiyah Singapore to Develop Mustahik Coffee Ecosystem

JAKARTA – The National Zakat Agency (Baznas) of Indonesia received an audience visit from a delegation of Jamiyah Singapore as an initial step to explore economic empowerment synergy through the optimisation of coffee products grown by mustahik farmers. The meeting took place at the Baznas RI office in Jakarta on Tuesday (14/7/2026).

The strategic meeting aimed to build a long-term collaboration integrating the supply of high-quality coffee raw materials from mustahik farmers assisted by Baznas into various empowerment programmes run by the non-governmental social organisation from Singapore.

Deputy Chairman of Baznas RI, Zainut Tauhid Sa’adi, welcomed the audience visit by the Jamiyah Singapore delegation as a positive first step in building a strategic partnership going forward.

“We certainly hope this audience brings positive cooperation in the future that we can undertake together for the benefit of the ummah, both in Indonesia and in Singapore,” said Zainut in a press release on Wednesday (15/7/2026).

Responding to Jamiyah Singapore’s initiative to collaborate in the coffee commodity sector, Zainut explained that Baznas consistently develops downstream programmes through ZCoffee, a comprehensive empowerment ecosystem that trains groups of mustahik to become professional baristas while nurturing local coffee farmers to become economically independent.

Zainut added that, as a facilitator, Baznas is ready to bridge and supply various superior coffee varieties produced by Baznas-assisted farmers to meet the preferences and needs of the Jamiyah Singapore market.
