Baznas Expands Outreach for Qurbani (Eid al-Adha Sacrifice) through 'Semarak Kurban Berkah Berdayakan Desa' Initiative

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) of Indonesia held the ‘Semarak Kurban Berkah Berdayakan Desa’ event this week at Kendal Tunnel, Sudirman, Jakarta. This is an effort to expand outreach for the Qurbani ritual and encourage people to fulfil their Qurbani obligations through Baznas.

During the event, Baznas provided free health services, a Baznas Qurbani service counter, Zakat, Infaq, and Sadaqah (ZIS) services, and distributed processed sacrificial meat to visitors.

The Head of Mobilisation and Collection at Baznas RI, Rizaludin Kurniawan, said that this activity is part of Baznas’s effort to provide more accessible Qurbani services, especially in urban areas with high mobility such as Kendal Tunnel, Sudirman.

“Through this event, we want to bring Qurbani services closer to the community. We hope that people will increasingly understand that Qurbani is not just an annual ritual, but also a means of helping those in need, including in Palestine,” said Rizaludin in a written statement in Jakarta, Friday (15/05/2026).

Rizaludin added that, in addition to providing information and education, Baznas also provides Qurbani consultation services for people who want to know more about the procedures for performing Qurbani, choices of sacrificial animals, and the locations where Baznas distributes Qurbani.
