Baznas Expands Digital Qurban Savings Service
With Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijri approaching, the digital tabungan kurban (Qurban savings) service is being expanded to make it easier for people to plan and carry out the ibadah more practically and transparently. Badan Amil Zakat Nasional (Baznas) together with Hijra Bank launched the digital savings program via the Hijra Box feature, running until 25 May 2026. The program allows customers to save zakat funds gradually while also purchasing and distributing the sacrificial animals directly through the digital platform.
In addition to easy access, customers who open Hijra Box Kurban and make transactions stand to receive cashback of up to Rp700,000, depending on the type of sacrificial animal chosen.
Rizaludin Kurniawan, head of Mobilisation and Collection at Baznas RI, said the collaboration is part of an effort to facilitate the public in performing the ibadah of qurban through the use of financial technology.
‘The partnership between Baznas and Hijra Bank is a manifestation of our commitment to provide the best services for the umat. With the Hijra Box feature, the public can plan their qurban well in advance in a way that is easier, safer, and blessed because it is professionally managed,’ Rizaludin said in a written statement on Saturday, 23 May.
He noted that all sacrificial animals provided in the program have met stringent sharia and health standards. Through the app, Baznas RI offers several kurban package options, ranging from a goat/sheep weighing 21–26 kilograms at Rp2.6 million to a whole cow at Rp21 million.
‘We hope that the digital access will encourage the interest of the younger generation and the broader public to perform qurban this year. All animals purchased by customers through the Hijra Bank app will be immediately distributed by Baznas to eligible mustahik in various areas in need,’ he said.
Through the service, the public can participate in the digital kurban program through several simple steps, starting from opening the Hijra Bank app, selecting the kurban menu and Hijra Box feature, determining the kurban package via Baznas, to topping up balance gradually until the target funds are reached.
The program is part of the trend of digitalization of sharia financial services that has begun to be used to support the ease of social worship and the management and distribution of qurban in a more transparent and efficient manner. (E-3)
In addition to animal markets, impromptu stalls selling sacrificial animals are also subject to inspection.
