Baznas Empowers Mustahik in Banyumas Through Chicken Farming Programme

The National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) is intensifying efforts to eradicate extreme poverty in Banyumas Regency through the launch of the ‘Perempuan Mandiri melalui Ternak Ayam’ (Permata) programme in Cilongok District. The initiative, valued at Rp194.8 million, specifically targets 30 female-headed families. Baznas Vice Chairman Zainut Tauhid Sa’adi stated the agency’s full commitment to supporting the government’s acceleration of extreme poverty reduction in Banyumas, a region with a high concentration of impoverished residents. The programme is further bolstered by the Banyumas district Baznas, which has allocated an additional Rp240 million to provide cultivation capital and hatchery machines across 12 other villages. Zainut expressed hope that the Elba chicken farming initiative would help housewives achieve economic independence while sustainably strengthening their families’ food security. He expressed optimism that this cross-sector synergy could serve as an applicable and replicable economic model, bringing concrete improvements to community welfare.
