Baznas distributes sacrificial animals to flood victims in Aceh Tamiang
National Zakat Amil Board (Baznas) received the donation of a cow and five sheep from PT Graha Sarana Duta (TelkomProperty) to be distributed to flood-affected areas, specifically Pondok Pesantren Fajrus Salam in Aceh Tamiang. The donation ceremony took place at the Baznas RI office. Deputy Chairman Zainut Tauhid Sa’adi said the animals will be distributed to flood-affected areas, particularly in Aceh, as part of social and humanitarian concerns for communities hit by the disaster. ‘For this occasion, the location has been set, recommended for distribution to Pondok Pesantren Fajrussalam located in Desa Menang Gini, Aceh Tamiang. This may be part of our empathy toward our brothers and sisters affected by the disaster,’ Zainut Tauhid said. He added that the partnership between Baznas and TelkomProperty has been ongoing for several years, with various humanitarian programs—from Ramadan staple food distributions, school supplies, to annual sacrificial animal distribution—demonstrating the commitment of the two institutions to help those in need. He emphasised Baznas’s commitment to transparency and professional handling of the sacrificial offerings to mustahik in Aceh Tamiang. Baznas ensures the entire process of managing the sacrifice adheres to Baznas’s Three Aman principles: Aman Syar’i, Aman Regulasi, and Aman NKRI. ‘The Idul Adha worship, which is synonymous with Qurban, is not merely a ritual; it also carries noble values that we hope bring us closer to Allah SWT,’ he said. In the meantime, TelkomProperty’s VP Corporate Secretary Rifiana Candra Sari explained that the decision to distribute the sacrificial animals was taken after management directly reviewed the conditions of the flood-affected pesantren. The condition motivated the company to also provide humanitarian aid to the affected community. ‘Hopefully, our good intentions will be accepted by the local community with the assistance of Baznas, which already has a wide network enabling us to carry out this good intention to the target audience,’ she said. (E-3) This collaboration is a strategic effort to widen access for the community to participate in Qurban while ensuring more equitable distribution of benefits.
