Baznas’ Deputy Chairperson for Distribution and Utilization Saidah Sakwan said in a statement here on Friday that the meal packages were distributed to vulnerable workers and other people in need (mustahik).

“We hope that the Ramadan Blessing Meals program can provide benefits and help mustahik meet their needs for breaking the fast,” she said.

Sakwan noted that the program is expected to help mustahik fulfill their iftar meal needs throughout the holy month of Ramadan.

“Through this program, Baznas also aims to help meet the nutritional needs of mustahik while they observe fasting. Hopefully, what we provide can help ease their burden,” she said.

In the Greater Jakarta area, she explained, the meals were distributed using mobile kitchen vehicles. Meanwhile, in Sumatra, the meal packages were distributed through public kitchens set up at several disaster-affected locations in North Sumatra, West Sumatra, and Aceh.

“We would also like to express our gratitude to muzaki (alms givers) who have entrusted the distribution of their alms, infaq, and donations through Baznas. The donations that you contribute will be distributed responsibly, transparently, and accurately to mustahik,” Sakwan said.

Baznas has introduced 29 flagship programs aimed at improving the welfare of mustahik during the Ramadan period. These programs are expected to reach all provinces across Indonesia.

Baznas also provided free servicing for 5,000 motorcycles to help Eid al-Fitr holiday homecoming travelers ensure their vehicles are in prime condition.

A total of 300 auto repair micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) fostered by Baznas under the “Z-Auto Program” are involved in the service.
