Baznas Distributes Five Ambulances and 13,751 Ramadan Happiness Packages to Underserved Communities
National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) RI distributed Alfamart Consumer Charity (Sedekah Konsumen Alfamart) in the form of five ambulances and 13,751 Ramadan Happiness Packages (PRB) with a total value of Rp10,232,245,768, to be distributed to 36 provinces in Indonesia.
The aid is the result of four months of collecting Alfamart Consumer Charity Funds, during June–July and November–December. The funds were raised through consumer change donations at Alfamart stores.
Baznas RI Chairman Noor Achmad expressed appreciation for Alfamart’s consistency in collaborating with Baznas for several years. He said the trend of collecting consumer charitable funds has increased year on year.
‘Alhamdulillah, Alfamart has been working with us for several years and remains consistent. From the first year until now and it has evidently increased. This shows that consumers trust entrusting their charity through Alfamart to be distributed by Baznas,’ Noor Achmad said, quoted from an official statement on Thursday (5/3).
‘In other words, with such strength, Alfamart cannot be abandoned by its consumers. It will become even stronger, especially if it continues to partner with BAZNAS,’ he added.
Moreover, Noor Achmad explained that the Ramadan Happiness Package distribution is prioritised for vulnerable workers and UMKM actors, people with disabilities, the extremely poor and neglected, orphanages and dhuafa foundations, as well as educators and preachers in various regions.
Meanwhile, five ambulances will be placed at Rumah Sehat Baznas West Java, East Jakarta, Bulukumba, Jepara, Pelalawan, Karanganyar, and Palu. ‘With a beneficiary target of 85,398 people,’ Noor Achmad said.
He added that public trust is the main capital for the sustainability of the collaboration. According to him, Alfamart customers do not hesitate to donate through round-up donations of less than Rp500 and to donate without shopping with a free donation, because they are confident the funds will be managed honestly and professionally. ‘In other words, the collaboration between Alfamart and Baznas is trusted by the public,’ he said.
He hopes the collaboration will continue and deliver greater social impact not only during Ramadan momentum, but throughout the year.
Meanwhile, Corporate Affairs Director of PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk, Solihin, expressed thanks for the collaboration with Baznas RI. He emphasised that the programme is a tangible manifestation of public trust through consumer round-up donations at Alfamart stores across Indonesia. ‘This is an honour for us. The funds collected we ensure are distributed to rightful recipients through Baznas. Today we see how that trust is managed professionally and targeted,’ Solihin said.
He added that the collaboration is not merely a programme of distributing aid, but a long-term commitment to delivering measurable and sustainable social impact. According to him, Alfamart’s consumer donations are the key to the programme’s success.
‘Indonesians are extraordinary. When donating for a meaningful and well-targeted cause, they give willingly. We commend all Alfamart customers. Without them, this programme could not exist. Thank you to loyal Alfamart customers,’ he said. (H-2)
