Baznas distributes 74,228 Ramadhan breakfasts to Palestinians

The National Zakat Agency (Baznas) has distributed 74,228 iftar meal portions during the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Palestine throughout Ramadhan 1447 Hijri.

According to Imdadun Rahmat, Deputy II of Baznas RI, the iftar meals were distributed across several areas in Gaza, including Khan Yunis, Deir al-Balah, Al Mawasi, Al Musaddar, and Al Buraij in stages, reaching displacement camps and communities affected by the humanitarian crisis in these regions.

“We hope through this programme, Gaza residents can experience warmth and comfort during Ramadhan whilst enjoying hot iftar food,” he stated in a statement in Jakarta on Friday.

Imdadun noted that the distribution of food to Palestinian residents is an annual Baznas agenda during Ramadhan, to ensure their needs during this month are fulfilled.

“We also thank the Indonesian people who have entrusted their humanitarian assistance through Baznas. We ensure this aid is distributed with precise targeting,” he said.

During Ramadhan 1447H, Imdadun clarified, Baznas also presents other assistance programmes for Palestine, including food packages, healthcare services, clean water provision, clothing, settlement tents and residential tents, blankets, mosque tents, and educational tents for children in conflict-affected areas.

“God willing, this will bring blessings for all of us, and Baznas, representing the Indonesian people, will continue to be present to provide comfort during difficult times. We want them to feel that they are not alone,” said Imdadun Rahmat.
