Baznas Distributes 600 Iftar Packages Across Jakarta and Surrounding Areas
The distribution targeted Islamic educational institutions, orphanages, and shopping centre visitors as part of efforts to provide comfort in worship for students, orphans, and Muslims still working when the time for breaking the fast arrives.
“We strive to ensure every donation from the public reaches those who truly need it, from students in remote areas to residents in city centres,” said Saidah Sakwan, Head of Distribution and Utilisation at Baznas RI, in a statement issued in Jakarta on Monday.
Saidah stated that 600 food packages were distributed to three main locations in Beji sub-district: the Nusantara Special Education Foundation (YPLB), the Griya Quran Tahfizh Boarding School (PTQ), and the Al Wutsqo Orphan and Underprivileged Islamic Boarding School.
Baznas, she continued, also partnered with several shopping centres in Kelapa Gading (Jakarta), Serpong (South Tangerang), and Bogor to distribute 670 takjil packages to the general public and workers.
Meanwhile, Sujono, representing YPLB Nusantara Depok, expressed that the assistance was highly meaningful for the institution, which shelters hundreds of children.
“Thank you for Baznas’s attention. We hope Baznas will continue to succeed in the future,” said Sujono.
Similarly, Zulkifli, Head of Student Affairs at PTQ Griya Quran, expressed hope that the food aid would bring blessings to the Quran memorisation students there.
“Thank you to Baznas for sending food packages to our boarding school. May it bring blessings, especially during the fasting month. May the goodness of all donors be repaid by Allah with multiplied rewards,” said Zulkifli.
