Baznas distributes 1,000 Qurans to Baduy community in Banten
The National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) RI, supported by International Networking for Humanitarian (INH) and Gramedia, has distributed 1,000 copies of the Cordoba Quran to the community in Kampung Baduy, Sangkanwangi Village, Leuwidamar District, Lebak Regency, Banten Province.
Baznas RI Head of Distribution, Utilisation, and Empowerment Idy Muzayyad, in a statement in Jakarta on Saturday, expressed appreciation for the ongoing collaboration in expanding public access to the Quran.
“This is evidence of good collaboration between Baznas, the business world, and the community. When we unite, the benefits can be felt more widely,” said Idy in a statement in Jakarta on Saturday.
Idy explained that the assistance is part of a charitable mandate of 4,933 copies of the Quran worth Rp500,787,343 collected from Gramedia customers and participants of Happy Family Coloring.
Overall, the Quran assistance is targeted for distribution to four provinces: Banten, West Java, Aceh, and North Sumatra.
Idy emphasised that Baznas ensures the Quran charity mandate is distributed in a targeted, transparent, and accountable manner.
“We ensure that these Qurans are read, taught, and practised so that they become a source of ongoing reward for all parties involved,” said Idy.
He expressed hope that this collaboration can inspire the business world and the public to continue engaging in sharing movements as well as community empowerment.
“May every letter read from this Quran become a blessing and reward for the donors,” said Idy Muzayyad.
Meanwhile, Gramedia Regional Manager Singgih Hindratno said that the Quran charity programme is part of the company’s efforts to deliver sustainable social impact by involving customers.
