The National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) has deployed mobile health services through its Rumah Sehat Baznas (RSB) programme to reach earthquake survivors scattered across Reok District, Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

Baznas RI Head of Distribution, Utilisation and Empowerment Idy Muzayyad said in a statement in Jakarta on Monday that RSB medical teams were sweeping independent evacuation posts and remote areas along the North Coast, West Reok District, to provide health examinations, free treatment and distribution of medicines.

“We are proactively presenting this RSB mobile health service to ensure all earthquake survivors, especially the elderly and children, receive prompt medical treatment without being hindered by distance,” he said.

Idy said the mobile medical service was important given the limited local health facilities and the disaster conditions that had caused a number of survivors to experience health problems.

“We invite all levels of society to extend a hand and channel their best alms through Baznas to ease the burden and restore the lives of our brothers and sisters in NTT,” said Idy Muzayyad.

Meanwhile, RSB medical team representative Dr Moch Raedy Noor Rizki said from the location that the medical team was providing mobile health services by visiting evacuation posts in Reok District, Manggarai Regency, including areas that are difficult to reach.

Through the sweep, the RSB health team has treated hundreds of affected patients requiring medical services every day.

In addition, Baznas is distributing basic food aid and communal kitchen logistics through the Baznas Disaster Response Team (BTB), while also providing emergency mosques and sanitation facilities to support the worship and hygiene needs of the displaced.
