Baznas delivers 4,000 portions of ready-to-eat meals donated by Indonesians to Gaza residents

The distribution of ready-to-eat meal packages is a tangible effort to ensure those affected, especially those in refugee camps, receive adequate nutrition. The National Zakat Agency (Baznas) of Indonesia has distributed 4,000 portions of ready-to-eat meals donated by the Indonesian public to residents affected by the conflict in Gaza, Palestine. The aid distribution is being carried out in stages at several critical points, including Al Sahabini Camp and the Al Falogah area (Al Sultan Camp) in northern Gaza, as well as the Deir El Balah area along the Gaza Strip. ‘The distribution of ready-to-eat meals is a tangible effort to ensure those affected, particularly those in refugee camps, receive adequate nutrition,’ said Saidah Sakwan, head of Baznas RI, Distribution and Utilisation, in a Jakarta statement on Wednesday. ‘The arrival of this aid is expected to provide them with strength to observe their worship during Ramadan,’ she added. Saidah emphasised that the distribution will continue in phases until it reaches the target of 4,000 portions. The main focus of distribution is in northern Gaza and the Gaza Strip, where the need for food assistance is most urgent. Previously, Baznas also distributed 1,314 iftar meal packages donated by the Indonesian public to Gaza, Palestine residents. Noor Achmad, Chair of Baznas RI, described the distribution as a tactical step to ensure food availability for Gaza residents amid restricted logistical access during Ramadan. ‘Zakat strengthens not only in Indonesia but also reinforces the global humanitarian mission,’ Noor Achmad said.
