The National Alms Agency (Baznas) of the Republic of Indonesia has declared its full support for the 2026 Law Enforcer Appreciation Award for Friends of the Poor and Needy, an event initiated by the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI). Neyla Saida Anwar, Baznas RI’s Head of Supervision and Control, expressed hope that the MUI-led event would not only serve as a platform for appreciation but also motivate law enforcers to be more just, humane, and supportive of communities in need, particularly the poor and needy. She stated that this synergy is expected to continue sustainably to help create a more just and humane judicial system in Indonesia. Meanwhile, Wahiduddin Adams, Chairman of the MUI’s Law and Human Rights Division, said the organising committee is currently finalising the standardisation of assessment criteria for the 2026 awards. He emphasised that the awards are focused on officials, including judges, prosecutors, police officers, and advocates, who demonstrate a high commitment to legal advocacy and protection for marginalised groups.
