Baznas and International Humanitarian Agency Strengthen Sustainable Programme Cooperation for Palestine

The National Alms Agency (Baznas) of the Republic of Indonesia and the international humanitarian organisation 4TDK (International Organization for Human Development) are strengthening synergy to optimise the distribution of long-term humanitarian aid programmes for the Palestinian people. Through a meeting held in Jakarta, both parties focused on uniting the potential of their institutions so that the implementation of various sustainable programmes in Palestine and Gaza can proceed in a more structured and massive manner. On this occasion, Baznas RI’s Head of Distribution, Utilisation, and Empowerment, Idy Muzayyad, expressed deep empathy and a strong spiritual commitment to the safety of Palestinians, especially those who are still persistently struggling to face the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza region. “We certainly feel concerned, empathetic, and also continue to pray for the best for the Palestinian people, especially those who are and will continue to survive in Gaza,” Idy Muzayyad explained while welcoming the delegation at the Baznas RI Office. Idy stated that Baznas is committed not only to distributing emergency logistical aid but also to continuing sustainable recovery programmes in the education and infrastructure sectors. This global synergy based on sustainable programmes is expected to ensure that all donations from the Indonesian public entrusted through Baznas can be distributed more effectively, on target, and have a broad impact in Palestine. “In addition to consumptive aid programmes, we will also provide scholarships for Palestinians to study here, at universities with which we will later collaborate,” said Idy. The Coordinator of the Palestine Task Force Distribution, Iman Damara, said that humanitarian cooperation between Baznas RI and 4TDK had been established previously, such as the distribution of donations amounting to Rp3 billion during the Holy Month of Ramadan to help meet the basic needs of communities in the conflict area. The billions of rupiah in funds were allocated for programmes providing tents, mosque facilities, and iftar meal packages, all of which were very well documented for donors. “During Ramadan, we also distributed around Rp3 billion through 4TDK. So, there were tent programmes, iftar, and so on, quite a lot, and thank God the reporting was very good,” said Iman. Meanwhile, 4TDK’s Director in Egypt, Yacoub Alghandour, expressed deep appreciation for the concern and consistency of the Indonesian people who continue to stand together in guarding the humanitarian issue in Palestine. Yacoub, who is originally from Palestine, emphasised that Indonesia’s active role as the country with the world’s largest Muslim population in embracing the Palestinian issue is not a foreign concept, but rather a tangible manifestation of a close emotional relationship. 4TDK hopes that this collaboration on humanitarian programmes can continue sustainably until conditions in Palestine improve again. “May Allah bless you all and reward you with goodness, and may Allah accept from you these righteous deeds in the hope of seeking the pleasure of Allah Azza wa Jalla,” he said.
