Baznas and Akulaku train LPKA children to boost employment skills
Jakarta — The National Zakat Board (Baznas) and Akulaku Group have conducted screen-printing skills training for children under the care of the Jakarta Class II Special Child Development Institution (LPKA) as an effort to equip them with employment skills whilst promoting self-sufficiency in the future.
The activity is part of a series of corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes during Ramadhan 2026 initiated by Akulaku Group and Baznas RI.
Edy Salim, Director of Information Technology at PT Akulaku Finance Indonesia, stated in Jakarta on Saturday that the programme forms part of the company’s commitment to continue making positive contributions to society, particularly through social activities that can provide tangible impact.
“Ramadhan is an opportunity to strengthen care for others and sharing with one another. Through collaboration with Baznas RI, the assistance channelled is expected to be well-targeted and provide genuine benefits to the community,” he said.
Saidah Sakwan, Head of Baznas RI’s Distribution and Empowerment Division, said the activity is part of the organisation’s effort to present a Ramadhan programme that is not only consumptive in nature, but also oriented towards empowerment.
“Through this programme we wish to bring the happiness of Ramadhan whilst providing skills that are beneficial for their future,” she said.
Meanwhile, Ajat Sudrajat, Head of Baznas RI’s Empowerment Division, Community Zakat Collection Services and CSR, explained that the activity is part of the collaboration between his organisation and Akulaku in channelling various social programmes during Ramadhan.
Syaikoni, Head of the Jakarta Class II Special Child Development Institution, also expressed appreciation for the attention given to the children under care at the institution.
“We are very grateful to Baznas RI and Akulaku Group for the support and attention given to the children under our care at the LPKA Jakarta,” he said.
