Bazaar held for office workers

JAKARTA (JP): Office workers in one of Jakarta's business centers should be able to fit in some more shopping time next week.

A bazaar at the World Trade Center from Feb. 6-9 will cater to hundreds of employees working in buildings along one of Jakarta's business sites, Jl. Sudirman.

Winny Sumpeno, the public relations officer of the Center, told The Jakarta Post this is the first bazaar held in conjunction with the Ramadhan fasting month.

The bazaar is intended to help shoppers save time otherwise spent in traffic jams going to shopping centers, she said.

Winny said the bazaar, to be held in the Atrium, on the Center's second floor, will not be limited to workers from offices on Jl. Sudirman.

Thirty-eight stalls will open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. selling fresh and canned fruits and drinks, Idul Fitri gift packages, household items, and greeting cards.

Toys, accessories and garments will be among other items on offer.

A number of travel agencies will also be offering their services for holiday planners.

"The prices will be lower than in stores," Winny assured.

Most of the shoppers are expected at lunchtime, she said. (anr)
