Batik exhibition to be held
JAKARTA (JP): A wide array of batik fashion and interior design paraphernalia, which was selected from a recent design competition here, will be on display at the Ministry of Education and Culture's Art Center on Jl. Merdeka Timur in Central Jakarta on Oct. 27.
Indonesian Batik Foundation chairwoman Mrs. Ginandjar Kartasasmita said the exhibition would be inaugurated by the Vice President's wife, Mrs. Tuti Try Sutrisno.
"Mrs Sutrisno has expressed her appreciation for the idea and hoped that it could inspired youngsters' potential," Mrs. Ginandjar said.
She was quoted by Antara as saying that the competition had selected 20 batik fashion designers and 15 batik interior designers from the 500 participants who took part in a recent competition. (jun)
