Batch 22 of Batam Embarkation Departed, 442 Hajj Pilgrims En Route to Jeddah
A total of 442 Hajj pilgrims from Batch 22 of the Batam Embarkation for the year 1447 H were officially departed for Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Sunday afternoon. This departure marks the continuation of the phased deployment process for pilgrims from the Batam Embarkation.
The group, consisting of pilgrims from several regions in Jambi Province, flew via Saudi Arabian Airlines flight SV 5329 from Hang Nadim Airport, Batam. The departure process proceeded orderly under the supervision of the Hajj Organising Committee (PPIH) of the Batam Embarkation and relevant airport officials.
According to PPIH Batam data, Batch 22 includes 244 pilgrims from Kerinci Regency, 83 from Tebo Regency, 106 from Jambi City, 2 from Sungai Penuh City, and 2 from Batang Hari Regency. In addition to the pilgrims, the group includes one Regional Hajj Officer (PHD) and four batch officers, bringing the total to 442 people.
Prior to departure, all pilgrims underwent final procedures, including travel document inspections, data verification, and final health checks. Officials ensured all departing pilgrims were fit to fly in accordance with established procedures.
The batch was led by Batch Chairperson Hamdi Harmaini, who is responsible for coordinating services and assistance for the pilgrims during their journey to the Holy Land. The oldest pilgrim in this batch is Marsidin Mat Safii, while the youngest is 14-year-old Suci Gina Aurelia from Tebo.
Three pilgrims could not be included in this departure due to health conditions, namely Satimah Kunti, Zuhdi Jafar Idris, and Maryam Sintan Paman. The PPIH stated that these individuals will be departed once they are declared fit to fly based on their medical status.
With the departure of Batch 22, a total of 9,650 pilgrims have been sent via the Batam Embarkation out of a total of 10,945 prospective pilgrims for the 1447 H Hajj season. The remaining pilgrims will be departed in the final three batches still scheduled for the Holy Land.
The Batam Embarkation for this Hajj season serves pilgrims from four provinces: Riau Islands, Riau, Jambi, and West Kalimantan, divided into 25 flight batches. The entire departure process is conducted in phases using an integrated service system at the Batam Embarkation.
Specifically for pilgrims from Jambi, departures are conducted via the ‘Intermediate Embarkation’ scheme, where pilgrims only transit in Batam before continuing their flight to Saudi Arabia without staying overnight at the Hajj Dormitory. This scheme is implemented to support smooth departure flows and service efficiency.
Upon arrival in Jeddah, the Batch 22 pilgrims will continue their journey to Mecca to perform the Hajj rituals, accompanied by batch officers and Indonesian Hajj services in the Holy Land.
